Spiros Perivolaris was born in Korinth and grew up in Lyrkeia, Argolis, Greece. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering Technology from the Technological Educational Institute of Athens and earned his Diploma in Byzantine Music with honors (cum laude) in 2020 from the School of Byzantine and Traditional Music of the Sacred Archdiocese of Athens of the Church of Greece. In September 2020, he joined the School’s faculty as an instructor.

He began studying Byzantine Chant at the age of nine and continued his advanced training under Archon Protopsaltis Fotios Giannakakis of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, with whom he studied the Patriarchal tradition of Byzantine Chant. He also studied under Archon Mousikodidaskalos Demosthenis Paikopoulos, further enriching his musical formation.

Since the age of eleven, he has chanted in churches throughout Greece. He served as Lampadarios of the Metropolitan Church of St. Nicholas in Kaisariani (2016–2019) and of the Church of Saints Constantine and Helen in Kolonos, Athens (2019–2023). Since July 2023, he has served as Protopsaltis and Byzantine Music Director at St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church in Falls Church, Virginia.

He has participated in concerts under the direction of distinguished Byzantine musicians, including Fotios Giannakakis, Demosthenis Paikopoulos, Demosthenis Fistouris, and Georgios Theodoridis, performing at venues such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and St. Sophia Cathedral in Washington, D.C. He has also organized and artistically directed Byzantine music concerts in both Greece and the United States, promoting the rich tradition of Byzantine chant to diverse audiences.
